A slippery start for your Monday morning drive

(Photo supplied/ABC 57)

(Emily Kennedy/ABC 57 Meteorologist) Roads are very slick and snow-covered in spots this Monday morning, Jan. 18. Extra travel time is advised.

A few lake-effect flurries possible today in our Michigan counties, otherwise mostly cloudy skies. Clouds will break up south of the Indiana Toll Road for Tuesday with more cloud cover and possible flurries to the north. It’s cold, too, with daytime highs only in the upper 20s.

Temperatures start to warm Wednesday with some sunshine in our forecast. Thursday is even nicer with a high near 40 degrees. A cold front moves through Thursday night, dropping daytime highs into the upper 20s for Friday. The weekend is quieter but another system arrives Sunday night into Monday morning.

Your ABC 57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Center Forecast:

Monday: Flurries north, mostly cloudy. High 32.

Monday Night: Mostly to partly cloudy. Low of 22.

Tuesday: Mix of sunshine and clouds. High 27.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High of 33.
