The Notre Dame Football program is facing recruiting violations from the NCAA.

The school agrees with the NCAA enforcement staff that a former assistant football coach had “impermissible contact” with two prospects.

The case against Notre Dame also involves a Level 3 recruiting violation by Head Coach Brian Kelly involving posing for a photo with a prospect during the fall evaluation period.

The school has been slapped with a year of recruiting probation, a $5000 fine, one fewer official football visit for this school year, and a 6-month show-cause order for the former assistant coach in question.

Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick says any violation of NCAA rules is unacceptable and the school accepts the final outcome.
