Health leaders in LaPorte County are warning people to be on the lookout for a scam offering in-home coronavirus testing and vaccines.

The scam comes in the form of a phone call offering something the LaPorte County Health Department is NOT offering — in-house testing and vaccines.

The department’s Peggy Rose tells WSBT that she can understand why people would want the service, but it’s not real. She says the department isn’t there yet, and they want people to be aware that they should not become victims of scammers.

Indiana is working on the best way to vaccinate people who are home bound.
