It’s the news Chick-Fil-A fans on South Bend’s northwest side have been waiting to hear.

The new location of the popular chicken restaurant on Portage Avenue is planning to open later this summer.

Work on the restaurant had been scheduled for the middle of last year, but was delayed due to the pandemic.

The new Chick-Fil-A will be in the former Applebees location next to the Portage Avenue WalMart.
