An assistant coach at Elkhart High School is moving on up, and up north.

Coach Cody French is now the head coach of the Niles Vikings.

Niles finished their COVID-shortened season at 1-6 last year, including a shutout loss against chief rival Dowagiac. Elkhart Central, meanwhile, went 9-1 and won their 6A sectional championship.
