South Bend man on probation faces new sexual misconduct charges

A South Bend man faces sexual misconduct charges after police posed as an underage girl and convinced him to bring them a pregnancy test.

Police arrested Otis Cassell, 20, after borrowing the Snapchat account of a girl under age 18 who he had a relationship with, telling him she was pregnant and getting him to agree to meet. This, after the victim’s father contacted the sheriff’s office after learning his daughter invited Cassell to their home, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The father turned to the internet to find information about Cassell and learned he had a previous child molestation charge.

The Elkhart Truth reports at the time of his arrest, Cassell was out on bond for that charge in St. Joseph County. He was booked in the Elkhart County Jail on $200,000 bond on five counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
