The name of the man who was swept off the south pier at Silver Beach has been released.

The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety says 27 year-old Dakota Yergeau of St. Joseph resident.

He and a friend were on the pier during high waves on Sunday, March 28 when a wave swept him off and into Lake Michigan. Rescue attempts were unsuccessful and the search continues for his body.
