South Bend Police search for driver in Tuesday hit-and-run crash

Police are searching for the driver who left the scene after hitting a child with their vehicle Tuesday.

The crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Western Avenue and Walnut Street in South Bend.

ABC 57 News reports the 11-year-old victim was riding their bicycle when they were struck, and suffered a cut to their head. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police have not yet identified the suspected driver.
