The Indiana Senate has rolled back a proposed expansion of the state’s private school voucher program.
The new budget plan from the Senate GOP would scale back the vouchers, but still increase spending on the program by 25%.
The plan also directs some federal COVID relief to boost a number of economic grant programs and projects.
The increase in the state’s cigarette tax, which was promoted by the House, was removed from the bill in favor of a new tax in Indiana on vaping products.
