Victims of State Road 2/Quince Road crash identified

Police in St. Joseph County have identified the victims in a fatal crash that happened ON Thursday, April 8.

According to police, a Nissan Maxima hit a semi that was stopped at a red light on State Road 2 just after 7 a.m.

The three people inside the Maxima were thrown out. Glenn White, Jr. and Aaron McDonald, both from the Chicago area, died in the crash. A third person, A South Bend man, is in the hospital.

The driver of the semi was not hurt.

Police are still looking into factors that led to the crash.

Information from the original news release from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office:

St. Joseph County –The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team (FACT) continues to actively investigate a crash that occurred today on State Road 2 near Quince Road.

Early this morning, April 8, 2021, at approximately 7:09 a.m., a Nissan Maxima struck a
tractor trailer stopped at the light eastbound. As a result of the crash, two occupants of the
Nissan Maxima were pronounced deceased at the scene. A third occupant sustained
serious injuries and is still undergoing medical treatment. All three occupants were
ejected during the crash.

The names of the victims are currently being withheld pending notifications to their
families.
