Two men plead guilty after 2019 robbery attempt at Elkhart Dollar General

Two men accused of robbing a Dollar General store in Elkhart back in 2019 are pleading guilty.

The heist took place at the Dollar General in the 1800 block of East Bristol Street.

Police rushed to the scene after the husband of an employee called 911 because he overheard on the phone the moment the men burst in and demanded everyone get on the ground, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Police arrived after arrested the suspects who were still inside the store. Kar’dai Grant, 20, and Zirei Jackson, 22, both pleaded guilty to robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and two counts of criminal confinement while armed ahead of their trial.

Their sentencing hearings are set for May 6.
