They claim it is to give pay raises, lower insurance costs, and maintain the current levels of transportation safety. In reality it’s just so they can waste the money they already are getting in new and creative ways.

Maybe the school system should have taken care of those pay hikes and insurance issues instead of the $33,000,000 spending boondoggle of rearranging the high schools to better compete in sportsball games…

From openpayrolls.com: “The average employee salary for Elkhart Community School Corporation in 2019 was $44,837. … There are 4,683 employee records for Elkhart Community School Corporation.”

Not counting the transportation debacle (maintaining the current levels? REALLY?) the $120 million works out to $3200 per employee per year.

This referendumB needs to die again, like it has every other time they have brought it up.

We taxpayers told them NO once. Tell them NO again. Vote No on the school tax referendum. A full 80% of your property tax already =goes to the local school. Do you think that is a good deal? think about what the other 20% pays for. The public library. The local government. The courts and police funding. The county jail. But he schools have no limit on how much money they spend or waste. The worst thing to ever happen to our schools is the teacher’s union. Tell them NO again.

Who in the world votes to raise their taxes when so much is already wasted?

People who don’t pay taxes, or don’t notice that part of their rent goes to taxes, or people whose housing is paid for.

So Democrats, basically.
