Michigan reports 43 COVID outbreaks attached to schools in West Michigan

The Michigan Health Department has reported 43 new COVID outbreaks at schools and universities in Western Michigan.

The outbreaks, reported Monday, included Lybrook Elementary in Eau Claire, Watervliet High School, and Brandywine Middle-High School.

An outbreak is defined as two or more cases with a link that indicates an exposure outside of a household.

Monday also set a new single day record for suspected and confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations in Michigan, with 4,358.
