Indy 500 to be have the biggest attendance since the start of the pandemic

The largest-attended sporting event in the world since the beginning of the pandemic is coming. And it’s coming to Indiana.

The Indianapolis 500 has been allowed a 40% capacity, which means about 135,000 fans will be in the stands for The Greatest Spectacle In Racing on May 30.

There will safety measures in place, including face coverings throughout the venue, temperature checks at the gates, and spacing between groups in grandstands and everywhere else in the venue.

The viewing mounds will be closed to the general public and there will be cleaning and sanitation stations available. Fans who want to attend can apply online at http://ims.com.
