The City of South Bend is allowing diners to eat in the streets.

It’s part of the city’s “Hit Refresh” initiative, according to The South Bend Tribune.

So far, three businesses, The General Deli, Chicory Café and Taqueria Chicago have installed install seating areas in on-street parallel parking spaces through, at least, June 7th.

Concrete blocks and speed bumps, where needed, protect those in street seats from traffic.

The Tribune reports more restaurants are seeking permits for sidewalk seating so that they can offer social distancing outdoors due to the pandemic.
