A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family of the teenager killed in a shooting on Sunday, May 16, in Ontwa Township.

Relatives identified 15-year-old Jessica Heroy online. She attended Cassopolis Middle School. She died in what police call an accidental shooting when Ontwa Township Police say a 12-year-old boy pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger.

On Monday, crisis counselors from the school system, as well as Heritage Southwest Schools and Woodlands Behavioral Health were brought in to support students and staff. We’ve posted a link to the GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
