Two people hurt in drive by shooting near Coquillard Park in South Bend

Two people were hut in an apparent drive-by shooting in South Bend.

The shooting happened around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, in the 1200 block of Campeau, near Coquillard Park, for a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found one victim was on scene. The other was located several blocks away. Both were taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

ABC 57 News reports there was a cookout in the park when a car drove by and more than 30 shots were fired.

At least one home was also struck by the gunfire.

The South Bend Police Shooting Response Team was called to the scene and has taken over the ongoing investigation.
