An elderly Wisconsin man was killed in a crash on I-94 in Van Buren County Tuesday night.

The 81 year-old from Milwaukee was westbound on the highway shortly before 10 p.m. when he struck a parked semitrailer on the shoulder. Its driver was inspecting a possible mechanical issue.

The semi driver was uninjured. It’s not known why the victim left the road, and he was alone in the vehicle. His name was being withheld until family could be notified.

Westbound I-94 was shut down for more than 2 hours while crews worked the scene.
