Report of a shooting at University Park Mall on Monday afternoon

Police were once again called to University Park Mall on the report of a shooting.

The call came in around 2:15 p.m. on Monday, May 23.

Today’s call came more than 48 hours after police were sent to the mall, Saturday, when a male was shot in the parking lot near the food court.

Images from the scene initially showed a large police presence between the JC Penney and Macy’s entrances off of State Road 23.

Police say a single shot was fired over an apparent argument, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57. There was no known suspect or potential victim on the property when police arrived.
