Motorcyclist dies after colliding with semi on County Road 17

A motorcyclist died after after smashing into the back of a semi.

The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at County Road 17 and County Road 38.

The motorcyclist, identified as Dallas Yoder, 27, of Goshen, was traveling at a high speed and hit the semi, which was trying to make a turn, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Yoder had been taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with third-degree burns and other serious injuries.

The semi driver was not injured.

Factors into the crash are still being investigated.
