A South Bend man will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 26, after being charged for the murder of Enedine “Nina” Sohlke, 47, in October 2020.

Mark Coleman, 36, began a relationship with the victim while he was in prison, and after he was released last spring, the two moved in together and talked about getting married.

Court documents detail a pattern of control during the months that followed, including instances where Coleman allegedly prevented the victim from attending doctor’s appointments needed due to a kidney transplant or allowing family members from entering their home to visit Sohlke.

Police discovered Sohlke’s body inside the home last fall. When they found her, she had already been dead for days, according to the probable cause affidavit, as reported by 95.3 MNC’s news partners at ABC 57.

The autopsy determined she Sohlke died of blunt force trauma to the head and body.
