Police pursuit ends when suspect vehicle stalls out

A police pursuit that began in Elkhart ended in Mishawaka when the suspect’s vehicle stalled out.

The chase began on Friday, May 28, after police were called to an alleged hit-and-run near the 1800 block of Lusher Avenue.

Deputies from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office spotted the suspect vehicle and tried to pull the driver over, but the driver kept traveling, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle stalled near 12 Street/Harrison Road and SR 331 in Mishawaka.

Police then had to fire pepper balls into the vehicle to coax the suspect out.

Why were they being chased? Other than the obvious that they probably broke the law.
