In response to a recent incident at a pro-life rally in Michiana involving Representative Jackie Walorski, the Congresswoman penned an op-ed piece this week in the South Bend Tribune.

Walorski and a group of pro-life Hoosiers were assembled at a South Bend abortion clinic on May 15.

She says that as she was leaving, a vehicle traveling down Lincoln Way West at a high rate of speed swerved toward the group and stopped just a few feet away from her. The U.S. Capitol Police are investigating the incident, given a recent increase in threats against members of Congress.

In her op-ed piece in the South Bend Tribune, Walorski said that Americans can disagree on fundamental issues and we should have vigorous and healthy debates, but endangering people’s lives is unacceptable.

Death Roe

A young child has not a clue,
That its life is about to be through.
In what should be the safest place,
Their life about to be erased.
Hundreds of thousands every year,
Will have stolen what we hold dear.
Convicted of living in a womb,
Now transformed into their tomb.
America arrogantly lives a lie,
Sentencing innocent children to die.
The executioner has no burden of proof,
Has no interest in hearing the truth.
A little heart beats at 24 days,
Don’t expect any execution stays.
Arm and legs torn apart,
Forever silencing a broken heart.
Another life about to fade,
In innocent blood his feet Wade.
Millions of coffins in a Roe,
The winds of change starting to blow.
