Potential car dealership creating a stir in St. Joseph County neighborhood

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

An empty building in the Granger-Mishawaka area could soon become a car dealership, but not everyone is crazy about the idea.

The former shopping center has been proposed as a potential electric car dealership in a plan sent to the Mishawaka Planning Commission.

WSBT reports that people who live nearby are concerned about the impact of changing the former JC Penney Home Store into a car dealership. Some are concerned about the impact of lights, others about noise and security.

The proposal has yet to be finalized.
