Motorcyclist injured and cited in crash with pickup truck in Elkhart County

It was a busy Thursday afternoon for deputies in Elkhart County.

A motorcyclist was injured after attempting to pass a pickup truck and crashing into it. The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office say it happened Thursday afternoon just after 3 p.m. one mile west of Elkhart at C.R. 12 and C.R. 3. A 22 year-old South Bend man on a motorcycle attempted to pass an Osceola man in a truck on C.R. 3, and they collided. The motorcyclist was cited for improper passing, lack of insurance, and lack of motorcycle endorsement. He was transported to Elkhart General with non life-threatening injuries. Drugs and alcohol were not considered factors in the crash.

Also, a Warsaw woman was cited for failing to yield in a crash Thursday afternoon in Elkhart County. It happened around 2:15 pm at the intersection of C.R. 20 and C.R. 23 when she struck and SUV driven by a Goshen woman who was transported by ambulance to Goshen Hospital complaining of head pain. The first driver was uninjured.

And both drivers were injured in a crash in Elkhart County Thursday afternoon at C.R. 15 and C.R. 40. The Elkhart County Sheriff says it happened just after 3:30 when a 47 year-old Michigan City man failed to yield the right of way and ended up in the path of a vehicle driven by a 20 year-old Goshen woman. Both suffered minor injuries and the Michigan City driver was cited for driving while suspended.
