One dead after shooting on Brookfield Street

One is dead after a shooting took place on the 1000 block of North Brookfield Street in South Bend.

The call came in just after 2:15 am this morning after South Bend Police were alerted by shot-spotter.

Authorities say when they arrived on scene they found 24-year old Taveyon Colon unresponsive in a yard near a home with a gunshot wound. Colon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is currently on scene and investigating. There are no suspect information at this time.

Tragic What is the unfortunate body count so far in 2021 fatalities and shooting compared to 2018 19 and 20?
