Public input is welcome as the South Bend School Board discusses the future use of Tarkington Elementary.

Back in February, the board voted to close the school and the end of the school year. That happened this week.

The South Bend Tribune reports that two charter school operators are pursuing a state law that allows for the purchase a state law that allows for the purchase or lease of unused school buildings for $1.

Wednesday, officials from Career Academy and Paramount Schools of Excellence will speak about their thoughts for the building. State law says the committee has to decide by June 30.

The community is invited to a zoom meeting at 9 a.m. at http://in.gov/doe.
