NWS: EF-2 tornado touchdown caused damage in Jay County

A tornado on the ground was confirmed in Jay County, as severe weather moved through the state on Friday afternoon, June 18.

The National Weather Service issued a report that the tornado has been rated an EF-2 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.

The mayor of Portland, John Boggs, told WISH-TV that some trees were knocked down and some homes were damaged, but no injuries were immediately reported.
