Huge drug haul taken in by police during search for murder suspect

An out-of-state homicide suspect have been captured as a result of teamwork between local police and the U-S Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.

The suspect was believed to be in the 2100 block of South Franklin Street in South Bend.

On Tuesday, June 29, South Bend Police, Mishawaka Police and St. Joseph County Police along with the U.S. Marshal closed in.

Through the collective work of all involved, the homicide suspect was arrested as well as another individual who had an active warrant.

The South Bend Police Strategic Focus Unit continued the investigation and recovered 15 firearms, ammunition and magazines, US currency and a large amount of a variety of drugs.
