Two men arrested on weapons-related charges after traffic stop on U.S. 20

Two people have been arrested following a traffic stop on U.S. 20 in LaPorte County.

Police pulled the vehicle over on Friday, July 9, after allegedly seeing the driver travel left of center.

Three firearms found inside the vehicle were seized, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Mustafaa El’Malik, 22, and his passenger, Justin Burnside, 25, were taken into custody on a preliminary charge of of carrying a handgun without a license.

El’Malik was also preliminarily charged with theft of a firearm.

The two have since posted bond.
