The 15-year-old arrested in connection to the July 3rd shooting at Castle Point appeared in court for an initial hearing this week.
The shooting happened during an unsupervised gathering among young teens and pre-teens.
The teen was arrested on preliminary suspicion of criminal recklessness and pointing a firearm.
During the hearing, the boy admitted he pulled the trigger, leaving the victim with a broken jaw. Also, it was revealed that the teen has a history of leaving home without permission and having a knife at school, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
A case transfer has been requested to Marion County because that is where the boy lives.
Another hearing is set for mid-August as the judge considers the transfer.
The teen remains detained.
