A 9-year-old girl from Chicago has been hospitalized after an ATV crash in Cass County.

The collision happened around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, on private property in Silver Creek Township.

The preliminary investigation shows the girl, who was operating the ATV lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and land on top of her.

The child was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment for her injuries.

Police say the girl was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
