The South Bend Police Department will host their National Night Out event on August 3 at their department’s location.

The public is being invited out to attend the event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on West Sample Street.

There will be refreshments, entertainment, and even a rock-climbing wall.

At the event the department will have their bomb squad, SWAT team and K9 units. In addition they will have over 40 tables of information on safety that provides learning opportunities for attendees.

If you cannot attend, residents are asked to turn on their home or porch lights at 9:00 p.m. to show your support for the National Night Out.
