Kroger, Walmart recommending facemasks again

It’s not a requirement, but you’re being asked to wear a mask in at least two grocery stores, even if you’re vaccinated.

Over the weekend, Kroger announced it is “strongly encouraging” all individuals to wear a mask when in its stores, as the Delta variant of coronavius continues to spread rapidly. Previously, Kroger had only required their unvaccinated employees to wear masks and requested unvaccinated shoppers do the same.

“I don’t think we’re asking that much of shoppers, to encourage them — including those who are vaccinated — to wear masks,” said Kroger spokesperson Eric Halvorson. He represents the company’s central division, which includes the state of Indiana. “The trips are fast enough, you’re in and out of the store fast enough. We don’t believe it would be a burden for anyone. And if there are people who are concerned about wearing masks again, then we have the Kroger (curbside) pickup options.”

Walmart is also encouraging all customers to wear masks in stores in areas with high infection rates from the Delta variant of coronavirus. Walmart employees will be required to wear a mask in those areas. Walmart also says it will require all management-level staff members to get vaccinated by October 4.

This whole country acts like they’re not having any brains. Maybe they won’t catch coronavirus or the Delta but day and could run the risk of infecting all the rest of us who have had our shots and wear our masks. I just don’t understand this world it’s going to heck in a hand bag.

Wearing a non-N95 mask to stop COVID is like putting up a chain link fence to stop mosquitos.

Though that statement was originally intended to be a joke, the scale is very similar. It might be a little better because it will act like a “wet” air filter, but that mask isn’t stopping anything. Stop believing the lies and follow the science (or at least basic engineering) for once!

Katrinna I dont understand if your vaccinated and wear a mask( which does not work unless it has a static charge even n95 masks) then why does it matter what anyone else does your safe right? How could you be infected? I think you and other like you are the ones that have lost their mind and have absolutely no common sense. The writing is on the wall open your eyes and read it. Btw I’m vaccinated not by choice either. I will never wear a mask again only at the doctor, I will not be forced especially by people like you that don’t even understand real science and why masks don’t work. Do some research and you’ll see even an n95 doesn’t filter particles smaller than 4 microns and Coronavirus is smaller than that. So go ahead mask up and do what’s best for you but stop being part of the group that wants to tell everybody else what is best for them
