Back to school is ready to hit the roads, so make sure you are, too

Back to school time has arrived in Michiana, which means it’s time to start changing the way we travel.

Police remind motorists that they need to take extra care watching out for children, because children usually aren’t watching out for vehicles.

In Indiana if the stop arm of a bus is extended, that means all lanes of traffic stop unless the median is grassy or built out of raised concrete.

Drivers should prepare to stop when they see the yellow lights.

Drive slowly in school zones and remember that officers will be enforcing speed limits.
