The number of people without power was still high on Thursday, and with most not getting back on until late on Friday afternoon or early Friday night, the Elkhart Community Schools made the decision to postpone the first day of school, once again.

Classes are now set to start on Monday (Aug. 16). Around 17,000 people in and around Elkhart County were without power after Thursday morning’s round of storms.
