Fairfield deciding on a response to students racist video

A controversy is brewing at Fairfield Schools after a video of some high school students making racist remarks ended up on social media.

The video begins with on student asking another what he thinks of Black people using the N-word. The student said they don’t associate with them.

The video show more N-words being used, lots of laughter and remarks about slavery, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Fairfield’s superintendent issued an email to staff saying he’ll be working with the high school administration about how to respond.

He also sent an email to The Elkhart Truth, stating the district is giving the highest priority to investigating the incident and responding to it properly.

If those remarks weren’t made at the school or a school function, then what involvement should the school administrators have with it?

Answer: none at all.
