Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita sent a six-page memo Monday night to all state school superintendents and university administrators, saying schools act wrongly when they don’t discipline or fire teachers who make comments about Charlie Kirk’s death.

Rokita analyzed a specific South Bend case and said schools have broad authority to punish educators for divisive or controversial speech.

He cited legal precedents and urged public officials to act against teachers who support or excuse political violence, warning such speech undermines public confidence in schools.
