Multiple fire crews in Dowagiac and Wayne Township were dispatched Monday morning to a structure fire.

Crews arrived at 102 Halsted, just before 10:40 a.m., Monday morning, where they were met with smoke from the one story structure.

After making entry the crew located and extinguished the fire by 10:50 a.m.

A search of the home showed no one was there at the time of the fire.

The owners of the home later arrived and were interviewed.

Officials say the fire started in the Kitchen, near the stovetop, and was contained there. Though much of the hose had smoke damage.

The fire was determined to be accidental. There were no injuries reported.
