The Elkhart Education Foundation has awarded more than 26 thousand dollars in grants to staff at Elkhart Community Schools for the fall.

The money will support innovative teachers and extracurricular activities. The Elkhart Truth reports that grant recipients range from funding for trauma-informed classrooms to equipping special education lifestyle classes.

The girl’s cross country team and the Elkhart High School rest area will also benefit from the funding. The Foundation says more than 500 students will benefit from the funding.

Trauma informed classrooms? Here are some snippets from an Oregon organization pushing this stuff.

“Actively recognize and address historical trauma (interrupt oppression, provide culturally appropriate student support, acknowledge bias, etc.)”

“Ensure classroom content reflects the diversity of the students within in the classroom”

I’m not saying it is CRT, but it sorta smells like it…
