Indiana planning to launch housing price, data dashboard

Indiana plans to launch an online clearinghouse for housing data next month.

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority has been building the dashboard for seven months.

Executive director Jacob Sipe says it’ll pull together county-by-county data on housing prices, the age and quality of housing stock, and the age, race and income of the population. That information is out there, but scattered across the Web.

Sipe says the dashboard will not only create a single data portal, but provide up-to-date information on numbers that are constantly changing.

He predicts the dashboard will help lenders, developers, and city and county leaders assess not only today’s housing gaps, but where the trends are headed.

He says the agency is on track for its target go-live date of October 1.
