A student at Goshen Jr. High was arrested this week.

The 12 year-old student was allegedly found in possession of a knife and alcohol on school property Tuesday. The boy was taken into custody after the Goshen Police were called shortly before noon.

ABC 57 reports that the discovery was made after the student reported to the nurse complaining of feeling sick, and alcohol was smelled. The student was taken to the Elkhart Juvenile Detention Center. D-C-S was also contacted.

I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s We all carried pocket knives to school and splayed games with them at recess sticking them into the grown thrown ( called mumbully peg?) . We could bring our rifles and shotguns to school just keep them in your car to go hunting after school. How times have changed and freedoms lost We had fun No one got hurt except for perhaps a glanced pocket knife off a tennis shoe by accident
