North Liberty man, 22, killed in motorcycle crash on State Road 4

A North Liberty man was killed in a crash on State Road 4 in St. Joseph County.

It happened Wednesday night, Sep. 15, near Oak Road.

On arrival, first responders found Jonathan Richard Layne, 22, pinned underneath a motorcycle.

Witness told police that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed as it left the roadway and continued through a wooded and marshy area.

Other factors into the crash are still being determined.
