GoFundMe set up for Elkhart barn fire victims

A GoFundMe account has been established to help an Elkhart County family who lost their cows; other animals as well.

The fire on County Road 9 happened early Sunday morning. It was one of two fires that kept fire crews busy. The other fire was on County Road 38.

Officials have not said what sparked the blaze, but the neighbor who opened the GoFundMe account says it was arson.

Among the other animals killed — some horses and a puppy.

Besides the barn burning, the neighbor says their milk parlor was damaged beyond the point of use.

The hay elevator was also burnt up. The siding on their house buckled and melted from the heat.

You can access the GoFundMe here.
