Man, 91, killed in crash at Dogwood and Shively Roads in St. Joseph County

A 91-year-old man was killed in a crash at Dogwood Road and Shively Road in St. Joseph County.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Monday, Sep. 20, when investigators with the St. Joseph County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team say a Ford Fusion was traveling westbound on Shively with a stop sign.

A Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Dogwood, which has no stop sign for north/south traffic.

The crash occurred in the intersection of Dogwood and Shively with the impact occurring between the front of the Accord and the driver’s door of the Ford Fusion vehicle.

The driver of the Ford Fusion, identified as Wayne Lamar Dickerhoff, 91, was transported to Memorial Hospital where he died on Monday night,

The 43-year-old driver of the Honda Accord was treated for minor injuries and released; he
cooperated with investigators.
