NIPSCO customers could see gas bills go up

(J. Tyler Klassen/Elkhart Truth)

NIPSCO home heating customers could see their gas bills go up if the rate increase request is approved by state regulators.

The utility’s current base rates were most recently approved in 2018.

If approved, the first of the two-phase hike would take effect no earlier than next September.

The average homeowner would see their monthly bill go up about $10.
