A woman who led Elkhart officers into St. Joseph County in a stolen vehicle admitted to drink from a bottle of wine during the nearly 20-minute chase.

33-year-old Ashley Durall was spotted, late last week, in a vehicle matching the description of a stolen Chevy Equinox.

Police tried to pull her over at Oakland and West Marion, but they say she ignored their orders and too off.

The Elkhart Truth reports Durall led them on a 20-minute chase, ignoring traffic signals, weaving in-and-out of lanes, all at a high rate of speed.

The pursuit ended along Adams Road in Granger when Durall stopped the vehicle and tried to run off into a wooded area.

Inside the vehicle, cops say they found amphetamine and suspected meth among other items.
