Dowagiac man, 40, killed in crash in Edwardsburg

(95.3 MNC)

A Dowagiac man was killed after a two-vehicle crash in Edwardsburg.

The collision happened just after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, at Dailey Road north of Curtis Drive.

Officers arrived on scene to find a vehicle pinned against a tree and another vehicle off into a cornfield.

The initial investigation showed that Edward Muse, 40, tried to pass a vehicle by passing in the oncoming lane. As another vehicle approached, Muse attempted to get back into the proper lane and clipped the vehicle he tried to pass. The force of the crash caused Muse to lose control and hit a tree.

The vehicle Muse tried to pass also crashed into a cornfield.

Muse had to be extricated from the wreckage. He was airlifted to the hospital, but died.

A 17-year-old passenger in Muse’s vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
