A New Paris man is in trouble with the law after telling police who stopped him he didn’t need the stress, then taking off after police pulled him over.

Charles Cripe, 32, was pulled over for going more than 70 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone in the are of County Road 142 and County Road 19.

Cripe took off, police pursued him, then lost him.

A few hours later, another officer spotted the vehicle in Goshen.

The Elkhart Truth reports another chase began, then ended on Kercher when Cripe drove over stop sticks.

Inside the vehicle, police found a gun that was allegedly stolen.

Cripe is charged with resisting, theft of a firearm and possession of a handgun without a license.

When he is in prison, he’ll get a completely different type of stretch. Err, STRESS. Pardon the typo!

  2. Thinking he was Jesus and trying to avoid arrest 12 years ago wasn’t enough for this moron apparently. As the ex wife he beat the daylights out of, I’m so glad karma’s come due. Have fun in jail!
