Investigation underway after man treated for gunshot wound at Elkhart General Hospital

No arrest or suspect information, so far, after a man arrived at Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Officers were investigating after hearing gunfire, around 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10, in the area of Marion Street.

Officers were searching the area and collected evidence, then were advised by dispatch that a victim was being treated at the hospital for the gunshot wound.

The Elkhart Truth reports the victim suffered a non life-threatening wound to the lower extremities.
